Hey guys - just a spot of housekeeping. I noticed a comment from Annika, over on Mandy's blog, saying she never receives an email notification of replies when she comments on a blog using disqus. I moved to disqus solely because I thought that it was more interactive and that commenters would all be notified when I reply to their comments.
I reply to all comments, so if you've commented here in the past few weeks and never heard back from me, I'd love to know, so I've got an idea of whether this commenting system is working or not!
p.s. here's a kitten.

I do leave comments. I have seen that you reply (I appreciate that, so I keep coming back). But, I did not get any email notification (I think because I must have not ticked a box by accident).
ReplyDeleteI commented on your PhD one and although you replied, I didn't get a notification. Maybe it's because I use my twitter account to leave a comment? Who knows!
ReplyDeleteFor shame! Always the troublemaker, me! ;o) I sometimes check back, cause I know you reply, but often I forget. I usually use my Twitter, like Grace. Perhaps one has to sign up with Disqus to get a notification? I shall try.
ReplyDeleteUpdate: Seeing the "Use this to preserve your comment history and be notified of replies." under the 'Pick a name' section confirms my notion. Could you do a test reply, please? Ta.

Yeah, that was my main reason for installing Disqus, so I'm glad you get replies!

ReplyDeleteYeah, this is really frustrating if you don't get replies... I didn't really want you to have to sign up to disqus for this to work.
ReplyDeleteEither way, can you let me know if you get a notification of this reply? If not, I might need to give some thought to whether to look for a different commenting solution (although I really don't want to mess about with it too much!).

Yes, perhaps. I'm thinking I might have to look into other commenting applications - I really wanted everyone to be able to get replies!
